The Production Engineer will prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects, complying with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications. This person will take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, considering budgeting and operational considerations, while also establishing the criteria by which project success will be measured. Further, the engineer will be an active part of the plant management team, overseeing the plant maintenance team including mechanical and electrical personnel.


  • Monitor and analyze mechanical devices for problems
  • Perform initial and ongoing design reviews
  • Develop and implement a plant-wide preventative maintenance program
  • Recommend design changes, cost reductions, and warranty improvements
  • Perform root cause analysis and work towards resolutions
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures;
  • Review proposals and confer with management team to develop project objectives and schedule
  • Develop scopes of work for future capital planning including detailed budgets
  • Formulate realistic parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures
  • Design performance tests and conduct them on projects to assure quality
  • Maintain quality control in every area (budget, scheduling, planning, personnel performance, team dynamics)
  • Clearly report on project status
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specified budget
  • Actively contribute to the company's team-oriented environment
  • Communicate effectively with project participants in order to provide needed assistance and technical support
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations


  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or engineering technology program
  • 3-5 years engineering experience preferred but not required
  • Industrial experience including safety hazards and awareness a plus
  • Superior computer skills; well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly strong with Excel); ability to write computer programs as necessary

  • Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of business organization and management
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and flexibility to work in a team environment
